Chart notes
COPA DE PLATA was paired up with an inside rival sitting in mid-division in the early stages, edged closer outside moving very comfortably at the half, had the two path waiting for the cue to go watching the embattled trio at the midpoint of the final bend, shifted to the three path initially looking for running room, found a seam darting through in the two path at the furlong marker and powered past inside from a couple of runners for the win in the final seventy yards. MOON CHANNEL slightly tossed his head on the break, was keen behind rivals getting into the bit for moment three wide on the first turn, relaxed having only one runner beaten along the backstretch, glided around foes three wide when let out a notch at the three eighths pole, got to the lead for a fleeting moment at the sixteenth pole between rivals but was outkicked by the winner inside in deep stretch. NO HAY DOS sat in midfield inside another, offered no movement on the fence down the backside, shifted out uncorking a run three wide with a quarter mile from home, had the four path in the hunt at the top of the stretch, grinded away outside inching up through the stretch but was held off at the wire settling for a clear third in a tight finish for the top two spots. BALTIC SEA was pulling at the rider tracking the pacesetter on the outside, moved closer shadowing the leader outside down the backstraight, vied between horses briefly for the front end at the five sixteenth pole under a drive, could not go on with the lead quarter at the top of the lane but still finished up willingly coming back on catching the weary early leader at the finish line to be a fringe player in the end. SMOKIN EMPIRE was away alertly being the frontrunner just off the rail on the initial bend, remained on the front end unopposed along the backside galloping along, had the fence being scrubbed on for more midway around the final turn with outside foes bearing down, had the two path finding more with the pace quickening still holding of rivals in upper stretch but could not fend off outside challengers with a furlong from home and faded inside horses just getting nabbed at the wire for a minor share. FOREVER FROSTY broke a step slow on the start, travelled three wide at the rear on the first turn, was well back of the pack with a half mile remaining, made little gain around the second bend and could not get involved in the stretch drive. CHASING MEMORIES hopped at the break, recouped to have an inside tracking position on the rail in the early stages, was coaxed on the rail but was going in the wrong direction at the five sixteenths pole and came up empty inside runners by mid-stretch.
