Chart notes
HAWKEYEJET unhurried in the early going to race at the rear of the field, saved ground through the turn cutting the corner turning for home and rallied well up the open rail in the lane to be well clear at the wire. GROOVY N GRAY set the pace under pressure to the quarter pole, drifted out a bit at the top of the lane, was continually bumped by TWIRLAWAY from the head of the stretch to the eighth pole, finally moved away from that one late in the lane and finished willingly to keep the place. SNOOKIE JONES tracked the leaders to the top of the stretch and rallied well five wide to just miss the place. TWIRLAWAY pressed the pace to midway on the turn, vied for the lead approaching the quarter pole from four wide, leaned on GROOVY N GRAY in upper stretch, continued to exchange bumps to mid-stretch while still getting in and was outkicked in the final sixteenth. HOPE SHE COMES went evenly failing to menace. ENNEREILLY (IRE) was a bit slow from the gate, rushed up with a speedy middle move to stalk the dueling pacesetters through the turn and flattened out in upper stretch unable to sustain the bid. HOT GAMER raced in early contention five wide, was pulled up at the half mile pole and fully eased on the turn and vanned off. THE STEWARDS POSTED AN INQUIRY AND THE RIDER OF TWIRLAWAY CLAIMED FOUL FOR INTERFERENCE AGAINST GROOVY N GRAY, UPON REVIEW THE STEWARDS MADE NO CHANGE.
