Chart notes
DANEFIELD unhurried to race near the rear ofthe field for the first half mile, made a steady advance into the far turn circling four wide to close the gap, engaged the pacesetter in mid-stretch and wore that one down in the final sixteenth to pull clear. R ADMIRAL tracked the leader through the first turn, made an early bid four wide to take command leaving the half mile pole, opened a well measured lead on the far turn, repsonded willingly for the drive and was outfinished late in the lane. TOMMY BEE reserved off the pace to race mid-pack, found his best stride late and mounted a belated bid in the lane to be gaining in the late going. DUEL FUEL set the pace under mild pressure in the first rurn, was overtaken for the lead at the half mile pole and kept-on willingly while unable to keep pace. GLIDING AFLEET failed to menace. HAWKS CREEK passed tiring rivals. BURNIN TURF raced mid-field to the far turn, failed to respond when called upon and faded from contention. I'M NO ANGEL showed brief speed to be with the leaders at the half mile pole and came up empty.
