Chart notes
JIMMIES BIG DAY was encouraged forward, moved to the lead from between foes at the half, was pressured by an outside foe into the turn, shook clear leaving that bend, held under steady handling. XAVI was in a bit tight at the start, made a steady early advance up the backstretch inside rivals, continued to move closer from between foes on the turn, closed the gap but couldn't quite reach the winner. PURPLE OCTOPUS settled off the pace, advanced outside five wide on the turn, floated wider for the drive, kept on late. WHISKEYINATEACUP got away slowly, lacked early speed racing two to three wide, rallied between foes in the lane. SEMINOLE BEACH lacked early speed racing at the rear inside, swung five wide into upper stretch and ran on with mild late interest. ZOOMBIE was in pursuit from outside the second flight racing three to four wide into the turn, came into upper stretch six then seven wide, lacked the needed late kick. WE MISS ARLINGTON was forwardly-placed inside briefly vying for the lead, dropped back at the three-eighths, was in tight near the quarter pole, failed to rally. CUTLASS KING lacked early speed racing off the pace, went three to five wide on the turn, swung much wider for the drive, failed to menace. CAUTION CARDINAL chased from off the inside, made no impact. LAYTON THE DAY set the early pace from outside, was overtaken after the opening quarter and pressed the eventual winner three wide into the turn, faltered and faded.
