Chart notes
WAR EMPEROR broke a touch slow on the start, settled into stride co-trailing inside another down the backstretch, started to commence a rally three wide at the three eighths pole, ranged up circling foes four wide at the quarter marker, swung out widest full of run in the five path turning for home and continued to chip away on the lead pair through the lane and edged away for the win in deep stretch. AWESOME GRACE was away alertly up top leaving the gate, took back being reined in on the fence in hand watching the contesting pair midway along the backside, rated kindly nestled on the fence waiting for the cue to move around the turn, shifted out starting to rally two wide at the quarter marker, bid three wide between foes in mid-stretch, seized command briefly with seventy yards to go getting a head in front but could not fend off the charge outside by the winner in the very late going. CHARMING JACKIE prompted the pace three deep in the beginning, moved in taking control by the nine sixteenths pole, cleared off getting to the rail by the half, rolled along unopposed in the turn running, was collared outside having the two path in upper stretch, fought on stubbornly inside two others until being outkicked in the final sixteenth and was all alone at the finish line for the show award. SCOTCH SCAR shared the rear on the outside with the eventual winner, dropped back lagging well behind the pack at the three eighths marker, skimmed the fence at the top of the stretch and closed in on the rail to pass a tiring foe in deep stretch. SARATOGA GOLD had a head in front between horses entering the backstretch, let the outside rival go on with it midway down the back straight, chased in vain two wide around the oval, gave way four wide in upper stretch and emptied out in the final furlong.
