Chart notes
SHAMATEUR went quickly to the fore, set the pace inside shadowed by an outside rival, was headed by that one coming to the top of the stretch, exchanged light bumps, then was headed also by another in deep stretch but fought back gamely to prevail. CAN'T JUMP stalked from outside a foe in the second flight, was urged along past the three-eighths racing three deep, bid in late stretch taking a narrow brief lead at the sixteenth pole but missed. CLIVE CROSS pressed the winner from the outset racing two to three wide, bid at the quarter pole taking a narrow lead, exchanged light bumps in upper stretch, led past the furlong marker then was outfinished. SPACE LAUNCH settled off the pace outside three to five wide, was asked for more by the five-sixteenths advancing on the leaders, continued on in the stretch but needed more. MY BOY BRUCE tracked from inside, came out three wide for room nearing the furlong grounds, lacked the needed late kick. BLONDINA'S BOY was pinched back at the start, trailed along the inside, came out through the stretch, was never a threat.
