Chart notes
DIABLO ROSSO ducked out at the start but managed to get forward position between rivals in a five-way early pace battle, backed off midway through the turn, then swung out five-wide, ran down TARGARYIS on the lead, and was up in the last jumps. TARGARYIS was always prominent in the early pace battle, bid for the lead approaching the three-furlong pole, put a head in front before the stretch, but could hold off a late challenge by the winner and was tagged in the last jumps. CONSECRATED pressed the early pace five-wide down the backstretch, backed off a bit before the turn, then bid for the lead in earnest after passing the three-furlong pole, could not get to TARGARYIS on the lead, and was outfinished in the final yards. FIGHT MONEY settled mid-pack three to four wide, came out another two paths into the stretch and was mildly gaining ground in the late stages. JUST PICKLES was off a step slow, then got pinballed after the break then gave an even effort thereafter. FAST SERVICE was the inside horse in the second flight, backed out of traffic heading into the turn, then briefly responded when asked to re-bid late on the turn, but flattened out in upper stretch. QUEBRANCHO shied from the inside rival at the break, was wide throughout and finished evenly without posing a serious threat. BLACKSOD BAY threw the head after the break, rushed up to join the early pace mix along the rail, took the lead after passing the five-furlong pole, gave way when confronted at the quarter pole, and weakened in the stretch. NOTIME FORMISCHIEF got squeezed a bit at the start, settled mid-pack down the backstretch, came under a ride when unable to keep up through the turn, and had little to offer in the stretch. MOHAY PLEASE raced close up to the half, then staged a steady retreat to the rear.
