Chart notes
HALF BIRTHDAY stalked the pace to the head of the lane from the inside saving ground, rallied up the fence in upper stretch to take command late and held the runner-up safe at the line. GARNET AND GOLD tracked the leaders from last in the compact field, circled five wide at the top of the lane and mounted a good closing bid to just miss. IRISH VICTORY set the pace under steady pressure racing in the three path, responded when called upon turning for home to battle on the lead to midway down the lane and weakened in the final furlong drifting off the inside. KANAZAWA pressed the pace to the quarter pole, lacked a closing response and was lugging-in while tiring in the lane.
