Chart notes
THROWTHEFIRSTPUNCH stalked between rivals, asked three deep on the turn, bid three deep in upper stretch, fought outside FUZZY STARE in the furlong grounds and wore down that rival for the score. FUZZY STARE attended the pace outside the top pair, pressed RUNNING SPARTAN in the two path around the turn, took over into the stretch, showed the way with rivals on both sides into the final furlong, carried a short lead over THROWTHEFIRSTPUNCH into the last sixteenth but could not hold on. CHARISMA chased along the inside, moved off the fence a bit in the lane and edged JETWAY for the show money. JETWAY tracked outside a pair of rivals, chased four deep then three deep around the bend, finished evenly and got edged for third. METATE trailed the field early, moved inside, eased out to the three path around the bend and never threatened. RUNNING SPARTAN set the pace under pressure from TIGHT DALLY up the backstretch, fought with FUZZY STARE on the turn, lost command turning for home and weakened in the final furlong. TIGHT DALLY pressed RUNNING SPARTAN to the turn, failed to keep up with the top pair early on the turn, lost ground between rivals around the bend and was not persevered with down the lane.
