Chart notes
CULTURE SHOCK broke well but ceded the lead to TURTLE PACE while stalking close behind, responded to strong handling from the quarter pole to draw even with that rival in midstretch, then pulled away after a brief duel. TURTLE PACE jumped out to a clear early advantage and maintained the margin to the stretch, battled back gamely when confronted by CULTURE SHOCK with about a furlong to go, but weakened in the final yards. MISS DUQUOIN got pinballed after the break, tracked close up four-wide and remained wide through the turn, then finished with good interest but was unable to make up enough ground late. TRY chased the leading pair through the early stages, tipped out to the three path for the stretch run, failed to change leads and flattened out in the final furlong. I DID THE MATH raced between horses in the trailing group, then made some late progress. WAHIDA OF MARDAN settled inside at the back, made a mild middle move on the turn but was unable to sustain the effort. HARPER BRIANA raced three-wide with the trailing group, went extremely wide on the final turn and was not asked for much through the lane.
