Chart notes
FLEET OF FOOT was content to track the frontrunner outside in the early stages, started on inch up but was hard ridden to do so at the quarter pole, shifted to the three path chipping away on the frontrunner outside in mid-stretch, moved in getting on even terms while not switching leads with a sixteenth remaining and found another gear late to pull clear in deep stretch for the win. DEVIL'S TONGUE cleared from the widest post to be loose up top just off the fence, controlled a modest pace down the backside, continued to move along well in hand still setting an even tempo up top throughout the final bend, had the two path holding on turning for home, was collared outside by the winner with a sixteenth to go and gave way while being checked slightly inside by the seventy yards marker to best the rest for the place share. HOT POTATO edged up on the fence midway around the first turn sitting just behind the pacesetter, took back inside midway down the backstretch keeping sight on the front twosome, kept pace staying inside another around the last bend, shaved the corner in with a chance for a share at the top of the lane, shifted out three wide at the furlong pole and ran on well enough to be a non threatening third all alone at the wire. MASTERFUL MOMENT was unhurried at the rear initially, co-trailed shifting to the outside down the back straightaway, made little progress taking the overland route going three to four wide around the last turn, swung out widest to the five path in upper stretch and had some interest in the final seventy yards getting up late on the outside for a minor award. BORDER FOX settled between runners in midfield, dropped back to share the tail end inside a rival down the backside, had little to offer when urged for more at the five sixteenths pole and while getting to the rail in the final furlong lacked a rally in deep stretch. KEYNOTE SPEAKER broke inwards having to be taken a hold off leaving the gate, was the roused by the rider to get involved under the wire for the first time, travelled three wide on the first of two turns sitting in midfield, had the outside paired up with another keeping a close eye on the lead pair along the backside, could not gain on the lead duo while scrubbed for more three wide through the final bend and faded between runners in the four path with a sixteenth left to run.
