Chart notes
GETTINBY grabbed the early lead then dueled outside JERRY'S SPIRIT, inched ahead of that rival late on the turn, cleared at the top of the lane, showed the way under left handed urging into the final sixteenth, met the bid from SPECIAL CLUB late and held safely. SPECIAL CLUB sat off the pace in the early going, dove to the inside entering the turn, eased over to the two path around the bend, tipped out at the top of the lane, drew alongside GETTINBY in deep stretch but lacked the needed final kick. NO MORE DING DONGS stalked the top pair up the backstretch, chased two to three wide on the turn, could not produce a bid but managed to hold on for third. OTTO THE CONQUEROR broke a step slow, trailed on the inside into the turn, eased out to the four path racing well back on the turn, churned on through the lane and missed third. JERRY'S SPIRIT shied a bit early racing next to the fence then went up to challenge GETTINBY for command, kept the pressure on that rival through the turn, yielded at the top of the lane and faded.
