Chart notes
LADY IONA was tucked in on the rail watching the pacesetter, rated kindly on the fence keeping a close eye on the lead twosome along the back straight, moved well just waiting for the cue by the rider on the last turn, shifted out two wide being asked for more, closed in looming in the three path between rivals at the head of the lane and determinedly kept chipping away on the final furlong under a vigorous ride to inch away for the win at the wire. GO OLIVIA travelled three wide close to the back end around the beginning oval, ranged up three deep down the backside, took closer order two wide between horses through the running on the far turn, hugged the rail picking up the bit at the top of the stretch and rallied sharply inside in the final eighth of a mile but just missed with one late surge at the wire for the winners share. MIDNIGHT MARTINI was away alertly clearing off getting to the fence with ease heading into the first of two turns, slackened the pace controlling things while unpressured up top along the backside, was nudged along still quite in command throughout the far turn, had the two path cling on the front end with runners bearing down on both sides with a furlong remining and needed more relinquishing the lead by the sixteenth pole fading between foes lasting only for the show award at the wire. RETAIL THERAPIST was unhurried at the rear in the early stages, started to reach for more ground outside at the half, had a sharp turn of foot swooping around foes smartly three wide through the far turn, posed a serious threat outside in the five-path turning for home, closed in in the thick of things with a furlong still to run but stalled with the rally by the sixteenth pole to settle on the fringes in the end. SWEET FUSION settled near the rear on the rail, made no movement inside runners down the backstretch, was relegated to last unable to keep up to others making a move at the three eighths pole and showed some interest in the drive passing a couple of tiring foes in the final furlong. EARENDEL tracked the pacesetter two wide on the initial bend, continued to hound the leader outside down the backside, chased two wide on the final bend but the leader was slipping away at the quarter pole and gave way four wide by upper stretch. VRANA (IRE) had runners on either side sitting in midfield, made little progression by the half, saved ground but could not advance through the far turn and offered no finishing rally in the stretch drive.
