Chart notes
MORRISSEAU was hustled from the onset outside clearing away getting the advantage on the rail by the half, opened up further at the three eighths pole well in hand, rolled along smoothly throughout the turn with the rider sitting chilly, had the two path with a rival making a brief outside bid at the top of the stretch but had plenty more for the drive and drew off comfortably once again when asked at the furlong pole. SECURED ASSETS was roused going after the frontrunner entering the backstretch, shifted out at the half off the leader, chased the winner two wide under a vigorous ride closing the gap on the turn by the quarter pole, posed the only threat outside in the three path turning for home but was no match for the winner in the final furlong but remained far ahead of the next closest rival easily holding for the runners up share at the wire. STREET LEGEND had the inside position near the rear, settled in mid-division with the field very strung out in the turn running, angled out to the two path straightening out for the drive and ran on willingly to capture the show award albeit well back from the top two runners. G NOTE JEFF broke out on the start, settled close to the back end outside in the early going, was a joint last on the outside with three eighths remaining, travelled two wide on the turn making little progression, shifted to the four path for the stretch run and showed some late interest to close in for a minor role in the end. TOWNLINE BERTIE broke inwards on the start, was nudged along trying to keep up to the lead duo down the backside, was under a drive well behind the front duo who had the race to themselves through the turn, skimmed the fence trying to hold for the show award in upper stretch but folded inside in the final furlong. START RUNNING was crowded at the break seeing the field down the backside, co-trailed on the inside at the three-furlong marker, made little impact taking the shortest way around the bend and could not offer a finishing rally down the stretch.
