Chart notes
MAGICAL TRICKSTER broke out exchanging contact from the outside foe on the start, pressed between horses initially, took back tracking the leader on the outside at the five eighths marker, was scrubbed on to go after the loose frontrunner at the five sixteenths pole, posed the main opposition two wide at the head of the lane, kept chipping away through the drive, got to even terms outside with a sixteenth remaining and powered on past with seventy yards to go pulling away when crossing the finish line. MARVELLOUS MARVIN had a slim lead on the inside, edged clear by the five-furlong marker, moved very comfortably in hand controlling the pace around the oval, had the rail holding onto the front end straightening out for home, was collared outside by the winner with a sixteenth to go but could not find more late inside and finished up clearly besting the rest for the runners up share. SOUPER SURVIVOR was well placed isolated sitting behind the engaged trio in the beginning, tracked the pacesetter on the rail midway down the backside, was asked for more under a right-handed crop at the five sixteenths pole with little response while the lead duo were slipping away, shifted to the three path still in the mix in upper stretch and ran on willingly to the wire but could only come home a non-threatening third. IT WASN'T A BLUFF was off a step slow trailing the field leaving the chute, advanced inside taking closer order on the rail by the half, edged up two wide in midturn, angled to the four path in with a chance for a small share and finished up one paced to be a fringe player in the end. SIGNATURE WINNER broke inwards at the start, was in the mix three deep up top in the beginning, dropped back to sit in midfield outside at the five eighths pole, shared the tail end outside two others at the half while urged on right handed by the rider, travelled three wide around the turn making a brief move closer at the quarter pole, shifted out widest in the five path for the stretch drive but came up empty down the lane. SLOVAN settled near the rear outside, had runners on either side part of the rear threesome with a half mile still to run, lagged behind the group unable to make any headway along the turn and had little to give on the rail down the stretch.
