Chart notes
APELDOORN was hustled from the get-go dueling outside for the front end, shook clear when the inside early speed opposition took back heading into the turn, rolled along getting a slight breather through the turn, had the two path bracing for the challengers bearing down in mid-stretch but would not be denied under a vigorous ride in the last sixteenth of a mile just prevailing for the win at the wire. MONDAY MORNING co-trailed on the outside at the midpoint down the back straight, began to reach for more ground on the rail going into the turn, closed in smartly on the fence well in hand around the turn, scraped paint posing a menacing presence inside taking the corner, continued to fight on inside inching even closer with a sixteenth to run but lost all chance for possibly surging for the win in deep stretch when jumping the shadow from the finish line pole nearing the wire losing momentum and just missing on the rail for the top spot. LAKE COMO HEIST argued for the lead being roused inside down the backstretch, relinquished the front end being wrangled back at the seven sixteenths pole shifting to the outside, edged up two wide around the turn, re-engaged outside the leader in the three path at the top of the lane but needed more in the final furlong finishing up evenly outside two others losing the three way battle down the stretch easily besting the rest for the show award. PARADISE PERFECT broke slowly leaving the gate, advanced steadily on the rail down the backside to sit in midfield by the half, ranged up taking closer order three wide midway through the turn, drifted out considerably to the seven path losing position in upper stretch but stubbornly fought back closing in regaining a minor award right at the finish line. NYCELY had a good spot in the beginning sitting all alone watching the contesting duo down the backside, had to be steadied at the seven sixteenths pole coming up to a runner who took back off the lead shifting outside, regressed two wide being passed on both sides by runners in midturn, angled out to the four oath in with a shot for a small share in upper stretch but faded inside late when getting picked up in deep stretch losing a minor share at the wire. HALCON NEGRO was away a step slow on the break being a joint last on the rail midway down the backstretch, could see the field unable to quicken with others at the three eighths pole, improved slightly making a brief move three wide inside a couple of runners turning for home but could not sustain the run and finished up one paced in the late going. SUNNYVILLE settled close to the back end inside another at the half, made little impression between horses three wide in the turn running, shifted to the six path for the drive to the wire but could not factor in the final furlong. PROFESSOR RELOAD travelled four deep near the rear along the backside, took the overland route going four wide around the turn but was retreating outside of rivals at the quarter pole and emptied out when angling widest in the seven path at the top of the lane.
