Chart notes
SOUNDS LIKE A PLAN broke on top to claim a clear lead going into the first turn, extended his lead by a couple lengths travelling comfortably up the backstretch, continued in hand through the far turn as the field began to close in before finally coming under a heavy drive at the three-sixteenths, forged ahead down the lane to give an authoritative finish. CHUMMERS brushed with inner foe at the start, settled off the pace two wide through the first turn, trailed for the run up the backstretch until meeting his cue at the half-mile marker, ranged up four wide through the far turn, kept on down the stretch to improve for the place honors yet was no match for the winner. SPIRIT OF ST LOUIS was brushed between foes at the start, trailed along the rail through the first turn, raced off the pace for the run up the backstretch, moved up between runners going into the far turn but found no room, repositioned outside nearing the quarter pole and showed an improving effort down the lane. GEORGE BRIGGS tracked the pace three wide through the first turn, tucked in to give chase up the backstretch, coaxed along in the far turn to close some ground but was unable to keep up with the leader as he opened up soon after turning for home and began to flatten out in the final furlong. ANNEXPERIENCE was brushed between runners at the start, found forward position between rivals in the first turn, claimed the inside briefly at the seven-eighths marker then opted for the middle of the pack two wide for the run up the backstretch, claimed the inside of the far turn and closed some ground before being cued at the top of the stretch but lacked the late kick needed. FUNNY FACTOR brushed outer foe at the start, chased the pace from the inside in the first turn, backed off and repositioned three wide soon into the backstretch, ranged up through the far turn but showed little in the stretch.
