Chart notes
MR. TAPPS vied two wide and between horses early on, then only with an outer rival while remaining in the two path down the backstretch, got headed by an early challenger approaching the far turn, sustained vying position inside of that new leader around that bend before failing to keep pace entering the lane, yet switched out in upper stretch, maintained stride and came again to rebid outside of his counterpart in the final sixteenth and edged past late. OUR FOREFATHERS took back from between horses soon after the start, trailed in the four path early on, advanced in the six path and outside of rivals with five furlongs to go, bid outside of the leaders at the half mile pole, led and tucked to the two path entering the far turn, vied with an inner foe before drawing clear while moving to the inside entering the lane, but met his counterpart's rechallenge in the final furlong and got bested. COMMITMENT FUND raced off of the pace in the three to four path, fanned to the five path entering the lane, leaned in slightly in midstretch then ran on to edge show. EL TIO vied along the inside before backing off to stalk entering the backstretch, chased the top pair around the far turn, stayed on to reforge show while leaning out to the three to four path reaching midstretch, but got outkicked by an outer rival in the final furlong and held fourth. VEBLEN tracked two wide and between horses, got shuffled back behind foes entering the far turn then stayed on mildly along the inside. FIRST OFFENSE chased from the four to five path around the first turn, retreated to trail momentarily at the nine sixteenths pole, continued in the five path around the far turn, shifted inwardly after being behind rivals in upper stretch then failed to menace between horses. TOP DRAWER tracked three to four wide while tugging between horses around the first turn, chased in the three to four path turning for home, steadied when put to tight quarters between horses in midstretch and faded. NOBLE ANTHEM vied three wide, then with only an inner rival while kept in the three path down the backstretch, yielded between horses approaching the far turn, wilted among rivals shortly after and was eased through the lane.
