Chart notes
SEA'S NO JOKE showed the way from inside under pressure, edged clear around the far turn, opened up at the top of the lane, drifted out a bit while growing weary late but was able to hold. FOREWARN trailed the field along the rail, moved into range in the middle stages, hugged the fence to the stretch, chased determinedly through the final furlong and was gaining on the winner to the wire. GRADUATION DAY chased three deep around the clubhouse turn, coaxed along up the backstretch, remained three wide through the second bend, chased outside a pair of rivals in upper stretch, then weakened while racing greenly in deep stretch. LUXOR MAGIC pressed SEA'S NO JOKE from outside to the five-sixteenths pole, chased after that rival in the two path with a quarter mile remaining and weakened in the drive. MISS ATHENS chased four deep, started to lose ground past the half-mile pole, dropped back around the far turn, eased in the lane and walked off.
