Chart notes
BARGER pressed the early pace on the inside, was reined in slightly to have a tracking role on the rail at the five eighths marker, sat very poised on the turn waiting for the cue to move having the fence, shaved the corner at the quarter pole commencing a rally, powered past the outside leader at the furlong marker and won pulling away with authority when crossing the finish line. AWESOME GRACE stumbled on the start, recovered smartly vying between horses in the early going, tracked the loose frontrunner at the five furlong marker outside, assumed control cruising outside the leader who was trying to bear out midway around the turn, moved well up front four wide at the top of the stretch but had no answer when the winner was charging on past inside with a furlong still to run but still ran on well enough to be second best at the wire. H C GAMBLE settled near the rear in the three path along the back straight, made little movement just off the fence in the turn running, lacked running room in the two path looking for a seam at the quarter pole, angled inwards to the rail getting a clear lane and ran on mildly inside of rivals to get up for the show money. SARATOGA GOLD was on the outside of another in mid-pack down the backstretch, made little progression throughout the turn, angled out to the five-path turning for home, dueled for the third place share between foes at the furlong pole but finished up one paced in the late running settling on the fringes in the end. CLOCKWORK ANGEL broke a step slowly trailing down the backside, caught up to the pack outside with a half mile remaining, travelled two to three wide on the turn making little impression, swung out widest in the seven path at the top of the lengthy stretch but lacked a rally down the lane passing only the runner who was leg weary in the final furlong. CHARMING JACKIE prompted the pace three deep initially, cleared away by the five furlong marker, increased the advantage up top in midturn, was getting out despite the riders best efforts with three eighths to go, surrendered the lead with her head still cocking inwards at the five sixteenths marker, tried to counter for a fleeting moment inside having the three path in upper stretch, folded by the furlong marker and was wrapped up late galloping across the wire.
