Chart notes
NINJA STAR stalked the leading pair from outside, moved to challenge leaving the turn, drifted five wide out of that bend, dueled inside a rival taking the lead past the eighth pole, prevailed. ECHO WITH LAUGHTER bobbled outwardly at the start, was keen in behind and between runners early, shifted in soon after saving ground on the turn, swung four deep coming out of that bend, dove back inside in mid-stretch, rallied but was not enough. CRUCIAL TAUNT was a bit rank in the early going between and behind runners facing tight quarters about the five-eighths and again three furlongs out, shifted out that juncture advancing four to five wide outside foes to reach contention at the quarter pole, was carried six wide into upper stretch with a narrow lead, dueled outside a rival then yielded inside the final furlong. VOLCANIC bobbled slightly at the start, raced outside off the pace, advanced mildly four to five deep on the turn, swung seven to eight wide for the stretch run, finished strongly but too late. SUNRISE DRIVE came in after the start, dropped back along the inside racing last but one, switched out off the rail into the turn, came out five wide in upper stretch and ran on. BANKER'S HOURS dueled outside a runner for the lead, weakened at the top of the stretch. MILITARY FORCE was forced in at the start, switched out and advanced outside a rival heading up the backstretch, shifted in entering the turn and continued to gain inside, sought room past the quarter pole checking at the top of the stretch, attempted again to stay inside but steadied and altered out near the furlong marker. ARMINO trailed, came out in late stretch. ALLEY OOP JOHNNY contested the pace from inside a rival initially off the fence then nearer the rail through the turn, started to weaken past the quarter pole, was carried in a bit in mid-stretch and dropped back and faded.
