Chart notes
PARADISE VALLEY settled off the pace, was roused while going from the two path to the four path on the turn, gained coming to the quarter-pole, rallied outside under a right-handed crop in upper stretch, closed well to get the lead coming to the sixteenth-pole, responded well to the challenge of the runner-up in the final sixteenth and just held under strong urging. COMMUTED settled well behind the rest of the field, moved from the inside to the two path on the turn, gained coming to the quarter-pole, angled out in upper stretch, rallied outside to make a bid into the final sixteenth, fought outside of the winner to the finish and just missed while able to get the place. BUCCHERINO showed speed on the inside of STICKUPWITHOUTAGUN, dropped back nearing the nine-sixteenths pole, chased while moving from the inside to the two path on the turn, made a bid at the five-sixteenths pole, battled under a drive into the final furlong, dropped back into the final sixteenth and weakened but held the show. SUBROGATE was urged along on the backstretch, chased in the three path on the turn, gained to make a bid at the five-sixteenths pole, took the lead outside the sixteenth-pole, led under a drive while remaining on his inside lead into the final furlong, was headed by the winner while still on his inside lead nearing the sixteenth-pole and tired. STICKUPWITHOUTAGUN showed speed then moved clear approaching the nine-sixteenths pole, went around the turn in the two path, was asked under threat inside the five-sixteenths pole, lost the advantage outside the three-sixteenths pole and gave way. CONTRARY THINKING broke out and brushed the gate, was hared ridden on the outside, dropped back in the four then three path on the turn and failed to threaten.
