Chart notes

SPICE GAL stalked the pace, edged up while saving ground past the three eighths, slipped through along the inner rail near the quarter pole to continue progress, engaged MY DEAR ANTONIA from her inside in mid stretch, dueled on a slim lead past the sixteenth pole, wandered outward and held sway. MY DEAR ANTONIA , three wide, moved up in hand and reeled in the leader after six furlongs, briefly cleared into the stretch, dug in when joined, sparred on her left lead, drifted out and missed in a game effort. MARGARET P saved ground, moved up nearing the quarter pole, worked outward pursuing in mid stretch then flattened out. TEA ROSE opened up early, set the pace towards the inner rail, was collared past the three eighths, drifted out leaving the five sixteenths affording the winner a path, continued to drift out in the lane and weakened. RUNSWEETLY , sluggish from the gate, lost ground four wide outside runners, gained near the five sixteenths, failed to sustain in upper stretch and weakened. IAMDEPENDINGONYOU , fractious in the gate, settled off the pace, failed to respond nearing the quarter pole, faltered and was eased through the final furlong.
