Chart notes
COTTON broke sharply going straight to the lead, shifted in up the backstretch setting the pace, was asked in upper stretch, drew off under steady urging. PINE KNOLL stalked the eventual winner from outside a rival, was under a ride outside the quarter pole, fought in the stretch dueling for the place. DISSECTOLOGIST tracked the winner from inside a rival, was outfinished by that foe for second. TIGER TOWN settled off the pace racing outside, was forced out a path entering the turn, went five to six wide on that bend coming into upper stretch seven deep, ran on to improve position. DOADSTER pursued the leader from between runners in the second group, was in tight steadying just slightly entering the turn, swung four wide into upper stretch, ran on evenly. HEAVEN'S CHAMPION exchanged a light bump at the start, raced in behind foes near the inside up the backstretch, steadied slightly near the seven-sixteenths, was urged along racing inside on the turn, failed to menace. SHAKOO MAKOO broke inwardly, raced three to five wide throughout, was not a factor. SHORT STORY LONG bumped lightly with a rival at the start, switched out up the backstretch entering the turn five wide, fanned eight deep, was not a factor.
