Chart notes

WAGNER moved well in hand rating kindly on the rail keeping a close eye on the front two runners in the early stages, sat poised on the fence waiting for the cue to go around the turn, shifted out off the contesting lead pair three wide coming to the furlong pole, had his head cocked staying on the wrong lead determinedly battling between horses with a sixteenth from the prize and found just a bit more coming to the wire inside getting the nose down for the gritty hard fought win. YACHT BOY was bumped by the outside rival having to be taken a hold of briefly leaving the gate, settled inside runners close to the back at the half, weaved between foes advancing two the three wide through the bend closing in smartly by the quarter pole, had the three path in the hunt at the top of the stretch, battled tenaciously for the front end squeezing through a very tight seam four wide at the furlong pole, kept pushing his way forward with just a sixteenth still to run and dug in gamely to the very end but was nosed out by the inside winner at the finish line. DREAMING OF KONA broke in on the start, settled in the middle of the pack three deep on the outside, improved position taking closer order heading into the turn, inched up three wide around horses being scrubbed on midway through the oval, shifted to the four path in the hunt at the top of the stretch, was in the thick of thing outside with five runners abreast slugging it out at the sixteenth pole and ran on strongly but was outkicked by the top duo in deep stretch being a clear third in the end. ENDRICK was content to let the frontrunner who was on a mission up top go on with it with while sitting all alone in the second position staying in range down the backside, travelled just off the fence measuring the pacesetter on the turn beginning to reel that one in by the quarter pole, moved in three wide at the head of the lane, pounced seizing control outside by the furlong pole but could not find more late and faded inside the fast closing trio of outside runners in the final sixteenth of a mile. EL ALACRAN broke out trading bumps on the start, quickly recovered to be loose on the engine setting a brisk pace down the backside, continued to ramble on through the bend but having a dwindling lead by the quarter pole, hugged the rail still holding on straightening out for home, gave way up top by the furlong marker and weakened further to a host of outside rivals in the last sixteenth. WAR LEGEND broke in exchanging contact with inside rival to co-trail down the backside at the half mile marker outside another, made little progression travelling two wide around the oval, angled to the five path between foes in upper stretch but could not get into contention through the drive to the wire. UNCAPTURED MOMENT was in tight between runners getting forcing inwards on the start, recouped to sit all alone down the backside watching the front three rivals by the half, had runners on both sides going two wide but was backing up going the wrong way in midturn, swung out widest to the six path turning for home but failed to menace down the lane. DIAMOND RIM had no early foot being a joint last in the inside at the half, was a solo last on the fence with five sixteenths to go, moved out to the two path for the stretch drive but made little impression unable to get involved in the late running.
