Chart notes

MAGICAL FACTOR tracked the pacesetter between runners in the beginning, was checked with the rider standing up in the saddle with five furlongs still to run, dropped back for a moment three wide at the half, ranged up when coaxed for more re-engaging the lead duo outside by the five sixteenths pole, had the four path moving in getting a head in front in upper stretch, veered out to the seven path when urged by a left handed crop at the furlong marker and got his mind back on business by the sixteenth pole doggedly holding off bearing down rivals on both sides at the finish line. SEDBURYS GHOST hopped slightly on the break, settled in midfield down the backstretch, edged up two wide around the turn moving well in hand keeping a close eye on the lead quartet, angled to the five path between foes turning for home, battled determinedly between rivals never wavering with a furlong remaining and was still closing in late but just missed inside for the win while winning the battle by a whisker saving the place share in the process. KING D'ORO was unhurried on the fence having only one rival beaten down the backside, crept closer two wide around foes midway on the turn, shifted out four wide at the five sixteenths pole coming with a run, swung out widest gathering even more speed in the seven path at the top of the lane and had a full head of steam in the final furlong charging on home outside gaining on the leader with every stride but was on the wrong end of a three way finish for the win at the wire. WEBSLINGER had the outside ahead of only a couple of rivals down the back straight, travelled three wide edging closer on the bend by the three eighths pole, shifted to six path with challengers on either side straightening out for the drive and finished up willingly for a minor placing but was well back of the front three at the wire. TOUR THE CITY was outside a rival up top in the beginning, shook loose at the three quarter marker, had company coming on outside by the five eighths pole, moved away again with a half mile to run, maintained a slim advantage in the two path with runners threatening in upper stretch, surrendered the lead to winner outside by the three sixteenths pole and had little left afterwards fading between runners in deep stretch. KEKOA was forwardly positioned tracking the leader on the rail, continued taking the short way around the bend drafting behind the lead trio, skimmed the fence well in the conversation in upper stretch, fought on stubbornly inside up to the sixteenth pole but flattened out in deep stretch. TOSEN WISH (IRE) improved on the fence to sit in the middle of the pack at the five furlong marker, progressed through the turn on the rail by the five sixteenths pole, shifted out to the three path looking for running room but when getting clear in the final furlong lacked a rally in the late running. WELLER GREEN was checked between horses coming up to the three-quarters pole getting shuffled back near the rear, saved ground making little impression on the turn, had the three path for the drive to the finish line in upper stretch, moved out off a tiring foe five wide by the furlong pole but failed to fire in deep stretch. SAUGEEN broke inwards on the start, trailed the field along the backstretch, lagged well behind the pack throughout the turn, angled to the three path closing the gap on the group at the top of the lane but could only manage to pass a leg wearyrunner in the last eighth of a mile. RUNNING ON TIME was bumped by the outside foe on the break, recovered to press on the inside early into the race, vied between runners at the five eighths pole, chased two wide around the turn, shifted to the three path in the hunt between horses at the quarter marker but could not find more for the drive and folded by the furlong marker.
