Chart notes
HARD RIGHT settled inside another all the while keeping a close eye on the lead duo in the early going, started to reach for more ground three wide outside a couple of rivals by the three eighths pole, was in full flight pouncing outside in the six path in upper stretch, seized control by the furlong marker and drew off late increasing the winning margin when crossing the finish line. BEYOND ADVERSITY was content to let the inside runner go ahead dictating the pace down the backstretch, travelled two wide shadowing the pacesetter around the bend, took closer order between foes making a bid up front in the four path straightening out for the drive, had the two path chasing the winner in earnest with a furlong to go but was no match before the win by the sixteenth pole but determinedly dug in late lasting at the wire from a oncoming outside foe to be a solid second best. BALTIC SEA had a slow start being close the the back end initially, Meade a good move improving between runners getting better position before heading into the turn, ranged closer two wide between rivals at the three eighths pole, angled out five wide in the mix at the top of the stretch, could not get to the winner in the final furlong but still had a very good late rally outside being a clear third while almost closing in to get the place share at the wire. AUNTIE'S BAMBINO broke sharp but then was taken back to be near the rear three deep with three quarters of a mile remaining, was in tight having to be steadied in the three path between horses at the five eighths marker, made little headway close to the back in the turn running, shifted to the three path at the top of the lane a sped ran on evenly for a minor role in the end. SMOKIN EMPIRE had a poor start breaking out having to be checked leaving the gate, smartly recovered moving to the lead inside by the three-quarters marker, rolled along quickening the tempo on the engine around the turn, skimmed the fence holding on up top turning for home, surrendered the lead inside to two runners by the furlong pole and wilted on the rail in the late stages. FOREVER FROSTY stumbled on the break trailing at the start, moved up being hustled on the fence but then had to be wrangled back in coming up sharply behind the frontrunner at the five furlong marker, could not keep up to the lead duo by the three eighths pole and ran out of steam folding just off the fence by mid-stretch. COMET'S EDGE was away alertly in the beginning, dropped back in the early running outside to be at the tail end five did with the group clustered at the five eighths pole, made no impression last on the outside through the turn, angled out to the five path for the drive but could not be a factor in the late going.
