Chart notes
ELGIN PARK tracked on the rail early down the backside, was eager having to be throttled down on heels drafting behind the pack setter at the seven sixteenths pole, settled into stride relaxing on the fence behind the leader waiting for the cue to move through the turn, shifted out looming boldly cruising up to the front three wide at the top of the stretch and drove on by with authority at the furling pole seizing command to win quite comfortably when crossing the finish line. SOUPER STRIDER broke to the inside trading brushes with another leaving the gate, could see the field while outside down the backstretch, moved well in hand picking up an inside rival beginning to make a run at the three eighths pole, angled to the rail gathering more speed at the quarter marker, rallied sharply on the fence through the lane but could not get to the winner late and still finishing up quite strongly easily besting the rest at the wire for the runners up share. FRAC RIGHT had a narrowly lead on the inside through the back straight, shook loose taking control by the three eighths marker, continued on unopposed through the turn, had the two path with company outside that being the eventual winner at the top of the stretch, offered. had no answer surrendering the lead by the furlong pole and faded inside runners in the final sixteenth of a mile just holding onto the show money at the finish line. BIG BOLD AND FIRST broke outwards exchanging brushes with the outside rival on the start, tracked the engaged duo while outside another along the backside, was under a busy ride just keeping pace through the turn, drifted out widest to the five path straightening out for home and had good late energy outside almost getting up for the third place share at the wire. COHERENCE settled near the rear inside, was relegated to last being ridden on for more around the oval making little impression, had the two path passing a leg weary rivals outside at the furlong pole but could not get into contention in the late running. TEMPLE HALL broke just a touch slowly on the start, prompted the pace outside down the backstretch, could not keep up to the frontrunner by the three eighths pole having to chase two wide through the turn making no headway while being driven on, shifted to the four path for stretch drive and folded between runners in mid-stretch.
