Chart notes
J C EXPRESS was allowed to settle early, was five wide on the backstretch, continued to be wide while improving on the second turn, was asked for run with right handed encouragement entering the stretch, wore down the leaders and kicked clear late. MATTAWA N THAT chased the early pace, was two wide between horses on the turn while still close up, made a steady run through the stretch but could not fend off JC EXPRESS late, while still saving second. COMMAND SGT MAJOR chased the early pace, was still close up along the second turn while saving ground, vied for the lead inside of the eighth pole but could not go on with that bid and was outfinished late. ROARING TIGER chased the early pace, lost position on the backstretch and into the second turn while saving ground, chased the leaders into the stretch and finished evenly. COMPELLUS had no early speed, improved position to get into contention along the backstretch, pressured the pace three wide on the second turn, led coming into the lane but weakened late. UJUSTDON'TGETIT was close to the early pace, then took command of the pace along the backstretch, was two wide between horses on the second turn while still on the lead, lost position into the stretch and tired in the stretch drive. GOVENOR'S GAMBLE set the pace through the first call, continued to be close while saving ground on the second turn, was outrun into the stretch and gave out in the stretch run. ANOTHER CHAPTER settled in the midflight early, was three wide along the second turn while losing position and had no late response.
