Chart notes
VON DOM moved up to join the runnerup from the outside entering the main track, alterenated with that one up the backstretch and through the turn, held a narrow advantage past the furlong marker, headed late, battled back in game fashion to prove best. FLASHBURN broke on top, showed the way out of the chute, dueled up the backstretch inside the winner, continued on equal terms into the lane, put a head back in front with less than a furlong remaining, outkicked in the final strides to miss. DAVES FRIEND DEWEY settled in the second flight, raced in the two path out of the turn, could do little with the top two late, all out to garner the show. SLOW also in the second flight, raced three wide through the turn and into the stretch, came up empty in the late going to lose the third spot. JR'S SAUVAGE void of speed, improved slightly into the stretch while four wide, never dangerous. GRAND TRIBUTE fell back to trail after the start, swung five wide into the stretch, made little impact in the run to the wire. WHOOSAH raced back off the pace, lacked a response in the drive. WESTERN STAR in mid pack early, began a steady retreat before a half.
