Chart notes
MR. SWAGGER chased four to five paths off the inside until tucked to the two path nearing the half mile pole, came under coaxing at the five-sixteenths, swung three to four wide into upper stretch, dug in under a drive rallying to overthrow the leader a furlong out, dueled with the runner up to the finish and gamely prevailed at the end. BECAUSE THE NIGHT chased four then two wide coming under coaxing near the quarter pole, spun just off the inside into upper stretch, rallied to overhaul the leader in concert with the aforementioned foe, dueled to the finish and was ultimately denied at the end while well clear of the rest for the place honors. ARREBATO established the front from the get go and showed the way in hand just off the inside and then along the inside, came under coaxing at the five-sixteenths, took the inside route into upper stretch, dug in under threat from a pair and was caught just inside the eighth pole, weakened in the late stages. STRONG LIGHT chased six to seven paths off the inside down the backstretch and then five wide through the turn under urging from the seven-sixteenths, went seven to eight wide into upper stretch, offered no response. SCOTTO stumbled at the start, chased eight paths off the inside down the backstretch and then three to four wide through the turn, spun two to three wide into upper stretch and made no impact. FLASHY ALEX chased along the inside and then just off the inside under a ride from the three-eighths, angled out six wide into upper stretch, tired. ANTHRACITE forwardly placed from the start, got placed to a protective hold when losing action with six and a half furlongs remaining, got guided outside to be expertly pulled up near the five furlong marker and was subsequently transported off the course via equine ambulance.
