Chart notes
HANG THE MOON unhurried in the beginning, angled to the inside first time through the stretch trailing the field, chased outside a rival on the far turn then swung five wide late on the bend, rallied widest to put a head in front at the eight pole and edged away from ASPEN GROVE (IRE) in deep stretch. ASPEN GROVE (IRE) stalked off the rail then settled in the two path, dropped back off the pace on the backstretch, drew closer along the rail on the far turn, launched a rail bid in upper stretch, dueled with HANG THE MOON past the eighth pole and was bested in deep stretch. BEACH BOMB (SAF) sat off the pace in the two path, gained under a ride on the far turn, angled four wide leaving the bend, challenged in upper stretch but was outkicked by the top pair in the late stages. ISCREAMUSCREAM was a bit fractious rearing once in the gate, broke alertly to take the front and led early off the inside, moved to the rail first time in the stretch, bore out on the first turn and relinquished the lead to LUCKY GIRL (IRE), remained closest in pursuit to the far turn, drew closer along the rail then two wide into the lane, bid three deep in upper stretch but flattened in the final sixteenth. SUNSET GLORY (IRE) got bumped between rivals and lost her path shortly after the start, pulled while racing near the back early, started to pull again while rank on the clubhouse turn, trailed on the inside then two wide on the far turn, came out and bumped a rival in upper stretch and could not summon the needed rally. BE YOUR BEST (IRE) raced up close inside the leader then switched to the outside racing keenly early on, got carried wide by ISCREAMUSCREAM on the first turn, chased two then three wide on the far turn, took a bump from inside in upper stretch, then lost her path past the eighth pole and weakened. LUCKY GIRL (IRE) bumped with outer rival shortly after the start, reserved after along the inside, moved up into the clubhouse turn and took over from a trouble top pair around the bend, opened up on the backstretch, roused at the quarter pole, held a diminishing lead entering the lane, was overtaken from both sides at the eighth pole and gave way in the final furlong. THERE WAS A STEWARDS' INQUIRY INVOLVING THE INCIDENT BETWEEN ISCREAMUSCREAM AND BE YOUR BEST (IRE) ON THE CLUBHOUSE TURN AND AFTER A REVIEW RULED THAT THE ALTHOUGH ISCREAMUSCREAM DID CARRY BE YOUR BEST (IRE) WIDE ON THE FIRST TURN IT DID NOT WARRANT A DISQUALIFICATION AND THERE WOULD BE NO CHANGE.
