Chart notes
DAY TRIPPER set the pace from outside and pressured from an inside rival, was headed by that one briefly midway up the backstretch, retook the lead on the turn, moved clear turning for home and under stout urging, was kept busy to the wire and held sway. PENNER ASH (IRE) switched out off the rail early and was encouraged forward between runners, chased in behind two wide, kept on in the stretch and just got the nod for place. YACHT BOY shifted in, tracked inside, saved ground on the turn but lacked room boxed in along the fence and dropped back, angled out at the quarter pole coming seven wide to upper stretch, continued to drift out ten wide, got into gear and finished strongly late. PAT'S GAMBLE stalked from outside going four wide on the turn, was outfinished for both place and show in a tight photo. WET AND WILD pressed inside the eventual winner just off the fence, put a short head in front briefly past the half, lacked the needed late kick. STAYHONOR GOODSIDE chased from between runners three wide, failed to rally.
