ROSIE TINKERBELL was sent from the break and sized the early lead, took on a challenge from STANFORD HOTTIE after passing the half and battled that foe through the turn, gained the advantage at the top of the stretch and drew away under a steady hand ride to the wire. STANFORD HOTTIE broke well and tracked the pacesetter up close from the inside, moved along side that one heading into the turn and did battle through the turn, could not go on at the top of the stretch but finished well under steady handling to hold second. CLASSY DOE hustled from the break and was close up to the pace racing three wide down the backstretch, held position through the turn, then had trouble keep up with the top pair from the top of the stretch, but kept on well under steady handling to hold third despite racing on the left lead to deep stretch. QUEEN POPPY was pushed on early to get forward position, was unable to contest the pace but tracked between horses to the turn, angled out four wide for the stretch run and finished evenly. LITTLE VENUS broke slow then veered outward and into WALK DOWN COLGATE, chased the field down the backstretch then advanced into contention on the turn, loomed at the top of the stretch but weakened before the furlong marker. WALK DOWN COLGATE had to steady after the break and spotted the field a head start, was far back down the backstretch, passed one late in the stretch but was never a threat. MISTY DANCER tracked four wide down the backstretch, then drifted wide on the turn, started to back up after passing the three furlong pole and was not a factor in the late stages.
