Chart notes
VERITAS AEQUITAS crowded a neighboring rival at the start but was away in good order, settled just off of the early pace and tracked from the outside heading to the half-mile marker, chased three wide into the turn, loomed at the quarter pole and vied for the lead into upper stretch, took command and kicked clear at the furlong marker, kept to task while clear into the final sixteenth, felt late pressure from the oncoming runner-up and held for the win in deep stretch. ADIOS NICANOR rated nicely off of the moderate early pace, settled while never far back nearing the half-mile pole, tracked inside of rivals entering the turn, shifted to the outside and chased three wide approaching the quarter pole, swung widest into the stretch and mounted a three wide bid nearing the furlong marker, rallied past mid-stretch, pressured the winner into the final sixteenth, could not reel in VERITAS AEQUITAS in deep stretch and was a clear second best. NOT MY RODEO lunged at the start and was away a bit slowly, rushed up along the inside and vied for the lead nearing the half-mile marker, took command and set the pace into the turn, carved out moderate fractions while prompted to the quarter pole, overtaken into upper stretch, could not keep pace with the leading pair at the eighth pole, faded in the stretch drive and was clear for third. HOMER WELLS showed speed leaving the start and assumed early command, set a moderate pace nearing the half-mile marker then was confronted by NOT MY RODEO at that station, lost the lead and chased between rivals into the turn, lost ground at the quarter pole, could not keep pace into the stretch and gave way in the final furlong.
