BOBBY ANTON forwardly placed leaving the start, went up to engage DRIVE BY in the early stages and disputed the pace inside of that rival heading to the half-mile pole, contested moderate fractions into the turn, took a narrow lead at the quarter pole, drifted to the two path into upper stretch, drew to a clear lead at the furlong marker, kept to task past mid-stretch, was confronted by CARDINAL TRICK nearing the final sixteenth, dug in into deep stretch and determinedly held the runner-up at bay late. CARDINAL TRICK settled off of the early pace while never far back, tracked outside of an inner rival heading to the half-mile pole, shifted to the rail at the three-eighths marker and saved ground into the turn, was well placed at the quarter pole and mounted a rail bid into the stretch, loomed past the furlong marker, could not get by the determined winner into the final sixteenth and was second best. DRIVE BY sent leaving the start, engaged with BOBBY ANTON in the early going and disputed moderate fractions outside of that rival heading to the half-mile pole, pressed the pace two to three wide along the turn, lost ground into upper stretch, was outkicked in the stretch drive and held clearly for third. CONEJO MALO prominent away from the start, ceded the early lead and stalked inside of rivals heading to the half-mile marker, was guided to the outside and chased three to four wide into the turn, was outkicked into upper stretch, could not keep pace into the final furlong and weakened in deep stretch. WINTER SOLDIER slow into stride away from the start, saved ground into the turn and advanced at the quarter pole, finished evenly in the stretch and did not threaten late. TOP WOLF settled off of the early pace, was guided three wide into the turn and lost ground at the quarter pole, lacked a response into the stretch and was not a factor late.
