PONDERGATING away in good order, settled just off of the early pace and tracked from the inside heading to the half-mile marker, well placed into the turn, chased the pacesetter two wide nearing the quarter pole, tipped three wide into upper stretch, ran evenly while in pursuit approaching the furlong grounds, responded to urging and rallied past mid-stretch, took command inside of the sixteenth-marker and lasted for the win over the oncoming runner-up. SPREAD THE RISK bothered by a neighboring rival at the start, was jostled leaving the gate and was away slowly, settled off of the decent early pace, improved position two to three wide and between rivals along the turn, shifted four wide into the stretch, closed fast in the late stages, surged in deep stretch and just missed for the win, while holding safely for second. ALMOST GOT LUCKY was squeezed at the start and was off slowly, unhurried in the early stages, trailed into the turn and went two to three wide nearing the quarter marker, gained ground at mid-stretch, closed willingly into the final sixteenth and got up for third at the wire. RIVER OF AMBITION broke alertly and showed good speed away from the start, sprinted to a clear early lead and set the pace into the turn, carved out moderate fractions into the turn and led into upper stretch, was confronted by SMILIN RUBY and battled that rival while holding a narrow lead at the furlong marker, stubbornly fought on into the final sixteenth, yielded in deep stretch and just missed for third at the wire. SMILIN RUBY broke in at the start and bothered a neighboring rival, tracked the solid early pace three deep nearing the half-mile pole, chased three wide into the turn and was well placed approaching the quarter marker, vied for the lead into upper stretch, battled with RIVER OF AMBITION past mid-stretch, could not hold off oncoming rivals into the final sixteenth and was outkicked in deep stretch. GEEJAYTEE tracked the early pace from the second flight, saved ground into the turn and was outrun to the quarter marker, maintained an inside path into the stretch, was gaining in the final sixteenth but needed more in the late stages. LEEDSTHESKY broke in the air and spotted the field to begin, rushed up and chased the decent early pace outside of rivals, ran in pursuit three to four wide along the turn, could not keep pace into the stretch and tired in the final furlong. THE STEWARDS CONDUCTED AN INQUIRY INTO THE START FOR LEEDSTHESKY AND UNANIMOUSLY RULED THAT LEEDSTHESKY CAUSED HER OWN PROBLEMS AT THE START AND WOULD BE DECLARED A STARTER.
