GRUBAUER sent to assume early command, set a contested pace while well handled nearing the half-mile pole, showed the way while pressured into the turn, carved out moderate fractions nearing the quarter pole and battled CLEVER CLOVER into upper stretch, shook free from that rival at the furlong marker, kicked clear into the final sixteenth and was hand urged to the finish for a convincing win. MIO BAMBINO was crowded at the break and away slowly, allowed to settle in the early stages, improved position and chased five wide into the turn, well placed at the quarter marker, went three to four wide into the stretch and ran evenly to the furlong pole, was not able to impact the winner into the final sixteenth but stayed on into deep stretch and got up late for second. CLEVER CLOVER broke alertly, assumed the early lead then ceded to GRUBAUER and pressed inside of that rival heading to the half-mile marker, saved ground into the turn and disputed the moderate pace to the quarter pole, battled GRUBAUER into the stretch, was repelled at the furlong marker and chased into the final sixteenth, could not match strides with the winner into deep stretch and was tagged late for second, while holding clearly for third. EVERYDAYISSATURDAY tracked the moderate early pace from the second flight, chased between rivals into the turn, got shuffled back a bit at the three-eighths and chased four to five wide nearing the quarter marker, ran evenly to mid-stretch, could not muster the needed response in deep stretch and finished evenly. SATANTA allowed to settle in the early stages, trailed to the half-mile marker, improved position two to three wide along the turn, swung four wide for the stretch drive, finished evenly and passed tiring rivals in the late stages. HOT CHICKS ONLY was forwardly placed away from the start, tracked the moderate early pace between rivals, chased from the three path into the turn and lost ground at the quarter pole, was outrun into the stretch and weakened in the final furlong. IDIOT'S GOLD raced close up to the early pace, chased three deep nearing the half-mile marker, ran in pursuit into the turn and was well placed at the quarter pole, lost ground into upper stretch, could not keep pace into the final furlong and faded in the drive. ROLLIN DICE broke slowly and settled off of the moderate early pace, raced three wide into the turn, was outrun to the quarter marker and did not factor in the stretch drive. TALK ABOUT AUTISM tracked the early pace outside of rivals, was well placed into the turn, chased four wide and between rivals nearing the quarter marker, could not keep pace into the stretch and gave way in the final furlong.
