Chart notes
WHY LOOKY HERE tracked close up to the pace racing in the two path while under some restraint from the rider, was let loose after passing the three furlong pole, dueled with SILVER FLIRT into the stretch and wore that rival down to prevail. SILVER FLIRT broke a beat slow then rushed up along the rail to seize the lead on the first turn, established a slight lead under slow fractions, responded when challenged by WHY LOOKY HERE on the far turn, battled gamely to deep stretch then gave way. MISS PERU broke well and tracked close up to the half-mile pole, bid three wide from the three furlong marker, raced four wide through the far turn, finished well under strong handling and intermittent urging but came up short. MAMARANDO broke out and bumped lightly with TRIPLE SLIPPER and was last into the first bend despite some push moved to the inside and advanced some down the backstretch under a rider, saved ground through the last turn and loomed in upper stretch but lacked a winning finish. RICKELLE was caught four wide contesting the lead going into the first turn, remained out there for the run down the backstretch while also dropping off the early pace, then tried to re-engage heading into the turn but struggled to keep up and had little to offer in the stretch. TRIPLE SLIPPER broke well and went for the lead heading into the clubhouse turn but was caught five wide, raced well off the leaders while still very wide down the backstretch, made a mild bid through the far turn, still wide, flattened out and was one-paced to the finish.
