Chart notes
CLASSY broke well and set off for the early lead, was left alone to dictate the fractions and set a reasonable pace for the level, held sway through the turn then responded when challenged by ALL HALLOWS and GRAY FROST near the quarter pole, battled the latter rival for the length of the stretch drifted out in deep stretch but won the bob at the wire. GRAY FROST came away well but was outrun into the first bend, went three wide then stayed out in the clear on the backstretch run, was sent after the lead with three furlongs to run, battled CLASSY all the way down the lane, was floated out two paths in deep stretch and just missed. ALL HALLOWS settled mid-pack early, tracked three wide not far off the pace, launched a bid from the five-sixteenths marker, had every chance in the stretch but lacked the winning punch. LUVAHAPPYENDING was hustled from the break but was caught five wide into the first turn, steadily advanced towards the leaders on the backstretch run and was with two lengths of the lead heading into the far turn, dropped off the pace near the three furlong pole then came back on under strong handling and urging, finished well to get into fourth position but was not good enough to crack the top three. PINEAPPLE CRUISE settled inside and tracked in mid-pack through the early stages, went into a drive after passing the half-mile pole but lost position on the turn and had little left for the stretch run. DADDY'S HONEY broke well and tracked behind CLASSY through the first turn, held that position to the far turn, started to struggle to keep up approaching the quarter pole and tired in the stretch. VIOLET THUNDER was prompted for speed from the break but was last into the first turn, lagged at the rear despite the best efforts of the rider, lost ground through the turn, was eased in the stretch drive and walked off under her own power.
