Chart notes
NORTHERN ROSE unhurried in the early stages, saved ground into the first turn and was content to trail into the backstretch, maintained an inside path into the far turn, gained ground at the quarter pole then angled out into upper stretch, responded to firm urging in the lane, reeled in TURA LURA in deep stretch and pushed past the runner-up in the final strides. TURA LURA sent leaving the start, disputed the early pace inside of BLUEBERRY MUFFIN, contested solid fractions with that rival into the backstretch, was confronted by KITTEN'S KID into the far turn and lost the lead to that rival at the quarter pole, came again into upper stretch, took command and kicked clear at the furlong marker, was all out into the final sixteenth, was caught in deep stretch and was well clear of the rest for second. HOLLYWOOD MISTRESS allowed to settle, raced two to three wide into the first turn, was unhurried through the backstretch run, chased four wide into the far turn, finished evenly in the stretch drive and bested KITTEN'S KID in the late stages to earn the show honors. KITTEN'S KID raced close up to the solid early pace, was well placed into the backstretch run and stalked the leading pair nearing the half-mile pole, vied for the lead into the second turn, was overtaken by TURA LURA into upper stretch, chased that rival to the furlong grounds, could not keep pace into the final sixteenth, weakened and was outfinished late for third. BLUEBERRY MUFFIN away in good order, engaged with TURA LURA and disputed solid fractions with that rival into the backstretch run, pressed the decent pace nearing the half-mile marker, lost position into the second turn and tired.
