VERITAS AEQUITAS unhurried away from the start, settled three wide into the first turn, improved position along the backstretch run, tracked the modest pace outside of rivals heading to the half-mile pole, navigated traffic into the far turn and was roused three wide at the quarter pole, loomed into upper stretch and drew to even terms with BIG BET, battled that rival past the furlong pole and dueled into the final sixteenth, took a narrow lead in deep stretch and held at the wire for a determined win. BIG BET away in good order, was hustled leaving the start and vied for the lead approaching the first turn, assumed command and set a modest pace into the backstretch run, contested the pace with DEO nearing the half-mile marker, battled that runner into the second turn and took a narrow lead at the quarter pole, led into upper stretch and met the bid of VERITAS AEQUITAS nearing the furlong marker, battled inside of that runner into the final sixteenth, was gamely bested in deep stretch and was well clear of the rest for second. WESTERN CAPE unhurried in the early going, saved ground into the first turn and was content to trail through the backstretch, saved all of the ground into the far turn, rallied into upper stretch, could not impact the top pair late and got up in the final strides to earn the show honors. ELEGANT BOY settled just off of the early pace, went three wide and between runners into the first turn, tracked the modest pace while well placed nearing the half-mile marker, chased two wide into the far turn, ran evenly to mid-stretch, was outkicked in the drive and just missed for third at the wire. UNBRIDLED RHYTHM hustled leaving the start, was prominent in the early going and stalked the pace three wide and between rivals into the first turn, raced close up to the modest pace into the backstretch run, saved ground nearing the half-mile marker and maintained an inside position into the second turn, chased the leaders nearing the quarter pole, ran in pursuit while still within aim at mid-stretch, could not muster the needed late response and weakened in the final sixteenth. CROWN MAGIC settled off of the early pace while never far back, tracked the pace six wide into the first turn, was well placed into the backstretch run, tracked the modest pace while widest nearing the half-mile marker, chased five wide into the second turn, lost ground at the quarter marker and gave way in the stretch drive.
