Chart notes
NIJINSKY HALO broke in leaving the start and crowded an inner rival, assumed early command and sprinted to a clear lead heading to the half-mile marker, was well handled into the turn and carved out moderate fractions while clear nearing the quarter marker, kept to task while clear into the stretch, dug in while under pressure into the final sixteenth and lasted for the win at the finish. UNSUSTAINABLE settled off of the early pace while never far back, tracked the moderate pace outside of rivals heading to the half-mile marker, chased four wide into the turn and improved position at the quarter pole, sustained his bid into the stretch and chased NIJINSKY HALO nearing the furlong marker, finished well into the final sixteenth, could not catch the winner in deep stretch and was well clear of the rest for second. THIRSTY VISION took back off of the moderate early pace, trailed at the half-mile pole and saved ground into the turn, maintained an inside path into upper stretch, angled out at the furlong marker and responded into the final sixteenth, could not impact the top pair in deep stretch but closed well late and got up in time to secure the show honors. TIZ'S HARBOR bobbled at the start then lost his path leaving the gate and was slow to begin, tracked the moderate early pace from the inside, saved ground into the turn and advanced at the quarter marker, could not sustain that run into the stretch and was outfinished for third in the final yards. CHECKERED FLAG was forwardly placed away from the start, chased the moderate early pace heading to the half-mile marker, ran in pursuit between rivals nearing the quarter marker, shifted out in upper stretch and ran evenly to the furlong marker, lacked a response into the final sixteenth and tired late. EL MAGA chased the moderate early pace outside of runners, ran in pursuit three wide and between rivals into the turn, lost position nearing the quarter marker and came up empty in the stretch drive.
