Chart notes
ENCHANT ME was unhurried ahead of only the poor starter in the beginning, improved smartly on the fence down the backside to sit just behind the leader at the half, waited on the fence for the cue to go around the turn, shifted out to the three path having clear run in upper stretch, bid for the lead with others on both sides at the furlong marker, switched leads finding more late and edged away for the win in the final seventy yards. TOWN'S WARRIOR travelled in the third flight three deep at the half, made a sharp move beginning to pick up horses on the inside with five sixteenths from home, then shifted out three wide at the quarter pole gathering more momentum, posed the main threat five wide at the top of the lane, fought on gamely but was just outkicked by the winner in deep stretch. SPEEDY PAL broke sharp for the lead, set an even tempo up top around the turn, still was in front by a narrowing margin in upper stretch, had no answer for the winner when headed at the furlong pole inside rivals, could not go with the top two late by did just stay on at the wire to save for the show money. RY PIE stalked in the third flight between runners at the half, dropped back on the fence through the turn, rallied up the rail in mid-stretch and was finishing up with interest late to almost close in get the third place share at the wire. ORPHAN HALLIE kept a close eye on the lead two while going four deep on the outside along the backstretch, made little headway three wide around the turn, shifted out five wide for the stretch run but could not get involved down the lane to the wire. PASSTHEPUDDINPLEAZ had a slow start seeing the field in the early stages, began to pick up horses three wide at the quarter pole, shifted out widest in the six path for the drive to the wire but had little to show in the stretch run. CADFAEL prompted outside early on, chased outside in the two path through the turn, was in the mix in the four path straightening for home but was in tight in upper stretch and yielded by the sixteenth pole. SILENT FORTUNE travelled three wide between horses watching the front two down the backside, dropped back quickly on the turn at the quarter pole and was no factoring in the stretch drive.
