Maiden Special Weight

Chart notes

BURLSWORTH broke sharp, allowed the speed to go early, chased that into and through the turn off the inside, engaged that same rival from the outside with less than a furlong remaining, fully extended to prove best. TWO DOLLAR EDDIE sprinted clear soon after the start, showed the way up the backstretch while under light restraint, continued to hold the advantage past the furlong marker, responded when the winner came alongside soon after, gave ground grudgingly to that one, clearly second best. GOD'S COUNTRY in the main group while racing outside, four wide through the turn, traffic late in the bend, staged a mild rally to annex the show while not a threat to the top pair. MR. BUTCH lacked speed outside, four to five wide through the turn, roused for the drive, improved position, not enough late for the show. DEVILS FORK lacked speed, steered out three wide when still back in the turn, displayed a mild amount of late interest while not posing a serious threat between foes. PARAMOUNT PAYCHECK off a step slow, raced back, inched closer in some traffic late in the turn, improved inside of several rivals when clear, flattened out a bit in the late going. GET AWAY WITH IT in the second flight early moved closer three wide through the turn, idled along in upper stretch then stalled out the final furlong to lose several positions. RANCH HAND washy while saving ground in the second flight, was finished after a half. CRUE'S N CONTROL void of speed outside, four to three wide through the turn, not a factor in the drive. BABY NOVA forwardly placed early outside, faded after three furlongs while four to five wide out of the turn. VINEY fell back to trail after the start and was never a factor. JIMMY in the second flight early, steadily retreated, well beaten.
