Chart notes
BANGIE GO away well without being asked much, angled to the inside when clear then dueled through the early stages with STARDUST DREAMS clear of the rest, took command approaching the quarter pole still in hand, then proved best in the stretch under a mild hand ride. CLASSY LASS tracked the two on the early lead while clear of the rest, launched a bid with about three furlongs to go, finished well under steady handling but was second best. ANNIE FOX tracked well behind the early pace with CLAY'S RUBY LOVE to the outside, responded when roused after passing the three furlong marker came four wide into the lane and finished well under strong handling but came up short. ROPERS N WRANGLERS lacked any early speed and had only MARK OF VICTORY beaten through the first half mile, went five wide into the stretch and was kept to task and passed a few late. RIVER DANCE raced outside of three near the rear through the first half of the race, launched a mild bid into the far turn and was gradually gaining through the final furlong. MAGENS BAY settled between horses near the back, lost ground heading into the far turn and was never a factor despite gaining some ground in the late stages. MARK OF VICTORY dropped far behind through the early stages and went into the last turn with much ground to make up, was kept to task late and managed to improve position in the late stages. CHARLEY PAINTS raced inside of a trio racing near the back of the back through the early stages, bid inside under pressure but did not have the needed response when asked. CLAY'S RUBY LOVE tracked in mid-pack to the outside of ANNIE FOX in the early going, came four wide into the stretch and lacked a finishing kick. STARDUST DREAMS dueled inside of BANGIE GO to the far turn then had nothing to offer in the stretch.
