Chart notes
PEPPER MILL broke a step slowly then was hustled to get forward position, dueled inside while saving ground throughout, took a short lead into the stretch and held sway under steady handling and intermittent urging to prevail. NEVER SWAY raced close up but caught four wide down the backstretch, launched a bid still four wide at the quarter pole and produced a good finish under strong handling to gain the place. CREME DE MENTHE broke well but dropped back off the early pace, moved into contention as the field headed into the turn, launched a four to five wide bid on the turn and rallied down the stretch to gain the third spot in the final yards. LETS DECLARE PEACE lacked speed and was being coaxed early to stay in contact with the field, saved ground but was still last through the turn, was kept to task and able to improve position in the stretch. ASENA raced between horses in the tracking group then bid three wide at the quarter pole, loomed a threat to mid-stretch then weakened. I'M TELLING MOM broke well and was forwardly placed to the turn, started to drop back near the three furlong pole and was unable to threaten in the late stages. GREASE MISSLE broke well and dueled outside PEPPER MILL to the quarter pole, gave way at the top of the stretch and faded down the lane.
