Chart notes
K R RULES broke well and gained the lead on the first turn, was allowed to dictate the pace under a snug hold as the field bunched up down the backstretch, was being ridden confidently approaching the quarter pole then responded when let loose in the stretch, went clear and easily held to the wire. THOMPSON broke well and was pushed to get forward position going into the first turn, pressed K R RULES to the outside down the backstretch then went into a drive from the five-sixteenths pole when that rival slipped away, was unable to catch that rival in the end but kept to task and outfinished the rest for the place. DEVILNTHEBLUEGRAS steadied in traffic going into the clubhouse turn, settled mid-pack racing in the clear in the three path down the backstretch, launched a bid with three furlongs to run, came four wide into the stretch and finished well to gain third while no threat to the winner. THE RONALD was always prominent while saving ground throughout, responded willingly when set down after passing the quarter pole but was outfinished in the final stages. CAPIAT lacked speed and was far back early, having only one beaten for the first half-mile, saved ground the through the turn, still well behind the rest, but was being ridden aggressively in the stretch, tipped out to the middle of the track and found best stride too late but made up some ground in the final furlong. MT. ZEROR stalked and pressed the early pace to the half-mile marker, became boxed in heading into the far turn, then finished evenly under a steady drive. LUKA GRAZIE caught five wide into the first turn, moved up to be with the leading group by the half-mile pole, launched a bid with three furlongs while still wide on the far turn then faltered in upper stretch. PUBLIC APPEARANCE was very slow away from the gate and was being pushed on heading into the first turn, advanced to get to mid-pack by the time the field turned down the backstretch, started to drop back after passing the half-mile pole and was unable to keep up the rest of the way and was not persevered with late when hopelessly behind.
