NAUTICAL MOON forwardly placed away from the start, stalked the early pace four then three wide into the first turn, contested the modest pace up the backstretch, chased SEAHAWK CODY to the quarter pole then bid into upper stretch, drew to even terms with SEAHAWK CODY nearing the furlong marker, battled that stubborn rival to the final sixteenth, repelled the runner-up in deep stretch and edged clear late to prove best. SEAHAWK CODY prominent early, vied for the lead three then two wide into the first turn, contested the modest pace up the backstretch, took command into the far turn and held a narrow lead at the quarter marker, met the bid of NAUTICAL MOON into upper stretch, stubbornly battled that foe to the final sixteenth, grudgingly gave way in deep stretch and held safely in the end for the place. ARCH CITY rated nicely in the early stages, was well placed to the backstretch run, tracked two to three wide to the far turn, needed more into the stretch drive, was able to close the gap late and was clear at the finish for third. KIRBY DERBY allowed to settle in the early stages, was content to trail nearing the half-mile marker, roused outside of rivals nearing the quarter marker, chased five to six wide to the stretch and finished evenly. GODDARD broke alertly, was prominent in the early stages and assumed command into the first turn, set modest fractions while prompted up the backstretch, lost the lead nearing the half-mile pole, chased from the inside into the second turn, could not muster a response into the stretch and gave way late. BLUEGRASS RYDER a step slow leaving the start, tracked the early pace four wide to the first turn, well placed while outside of rivals along the backstretch, chased four wide to the quarter marker, could not keep pace into the stretch and tired in the final furlong. This race had a timing discrepancy or malfunction and was re-timed using video technology to arrive at the most accurate time.
