Chart notes
TIZLIGHTNING hustled away from the start, assumed early command then was confronted by BYE nearing the quarter marker, dueled that rival while drifting out into the stretch, fought gamely into the final sixteenth, was unyielding in deep stretch and held at the wire for a game win. BYE sent to be prominent away from the start, engaged TIZLIGHTNING and dueled outside of that runner nearing the quarter marker, battled into the stretch then fought gamely while on even terms with TIZLIGHTNING into the final sixteenth, could not get by the determined winner in deep stretch and held at the wire for the place. COMPETITIVE IDEA tracked the dueling pacesetters three wide nearing the quarter marker, dove to the rail into the stretch then rallied into the final furlong, closed willingly into the final sixteenth and just missed for the win and place, while clear of the rest for the show. DEAN'S LIST chased the early pace from between rivals, ran in pursuit two wide to the quarter pole, got caught in tight approaching the furlong grounds then could not muster a final response into deep stretch. AZTEC SUN chased the early pace from the inside, saved ground to the top of the lane then gave way in the drive. PATRIOT raced in tight leaving the start then took up at the half-mile pole, chased along the turn, went four wide into upper stretch and was not a factor in the late stages. MOVING VIOLATION was outrun from the start and trailed throughout.
